

Joyce Irene Cason was born on December 8, 1942 to Ollie and Marie Greer in Dinuba, California. She was the youngest of three children, joining her brother Harold and her sister Wanda Rollins. Joyce grew up in Orange Cove where she enjoyed an active childhood - riding her horse, running around the family’s farm, and spending time outdoors. During her school years, she enjoyed participating in sports including track, basketball, and tennis.
Joyce married Dennis Lewis, together they had two sons, Steven and Keith. She later married DeOlin Smith together they raised a blended family of five children: Rocky, Randy, Cheryl, Steven and Keith. They shared many busy and meaningful years until his passing in 1977. Joyce then married Lee Cason, they were married 46 years until his passing earlier this year. Joyce and Lee enjoyed travel and adventure, camping and fishing throughout the United States. They lived in Arizona for about 13 years, spending many winters in Parker and visiting Quartzsite, where Joyce sold her beautiful beadwork. Eventually, they returned to the Central Valley to be closer to family.
Joyce was an energetic and spirited woman who deeply loved her family. She enjoyed many different hobbies, including golfing, traveling, beadwork, and quilting.
She is survived by Steve (Jennifer) Lewis and Keith (Sharmen) Lewis; stepsons, Rocky (Jan) Smith and Randy (Cindy) Smith, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband DeOlin Smith, her daughter Cheryl Smith Crotts, and her husband Lee Cason.
Joyce will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
