Reedley, California.
Maria Allala Muniz, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was called to be reunited with her parents and the Lord on September 8, 2026. Maria called Reedley home since the mid 1970's working for decades in the bountiful agricultural fields of the Central Valley. She was a great cook and even ran her own restaurant for a few years. While Maria had no formal education, she taught herself to read and write in Spanish and to her granddaughter's unpleasant surprise, she understood English better than anyone knew. Maria did her best to instill in her children what she believed to be important, which was to take pride and initiative in your work, to look after one another, to be willing to step out of your comfort zone, and to never give up. Those lessons resulted in all three of her children earning college degrees and experiencing lives, Maria had always dreamed of for them. Maria's sacrifices will never be forgotten by the generational lines that follow her. She will always be remembered as a strong willed, grandiose dreamer, willing to risk it all for the betterment for her family. She leaves behind her children: Tomas Rivera, Alvertina Rivera DeJong (Mike) and Adelina Rivera Gonzalez (Sal), her beloved grandchildren and great granddaughters : Nataly & Yesenia Arredondo, Roman & Giselle Rivera, Anairy, Huitzi and Meztli Gonzalez, Citlali Morfin and Jazmin & Yaretzi Moss, along with her spoiled pooches: Tarzan, Rayo, Tirula and Mechas. We'll celebrate a life well lived and the spark Maria set that will never dull on October 2, 2026 at 11 AM at Reedley Cemetery 2185 S. Reed Ave, Reedley, CA with a Luncheon Reception to follow at 22570 E. Parlier Ave. Reedley, CA.
