Ofelia Rico Badilla

Ofelia Badilla entered into eternal rest on June 24, 2026, at the age of 90. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Edward Badilla, and her son, Joseph (Eddie), brothers Armand, Mike, Ruben, Raymond, and sisters Josephina, Herminia.

Ofelia was born on August 20, 1935, in Phoenix, Arizona. She moved to the Central Valley in 1939 with her loving parents, Ramona and Raymond Rico, her three sisters and four brothers to the family ranch in Orange Cove, California. Edward and Ofelia were married in Reedley. They then moved from the ranch to Reedley, California, and raised four children, Joseph, Susan, Steve, and Evangelina.

A devoted woman of faith, Ofelia lived her life guided by love, compassion, and service to others. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose faith inspired all who knew her. Ofelia enjoyed a life of supporting her family in the home and also working with Edward to manage two businesses.

She is survived by her sister Angie Delgado, children, Susan and Robert Lopez, Evangelina and Rene Gonzalez, and Steve and Leslie Badilla, Gloria Badilla, her grandchildren, Angela and Brian Newman, Veronica Ruiz, Jonathan Badilla, Justin and Amy Seitz, Matthew and Kaley Gonzalez, Stefani and Reynaldo Silva, Patrick (PJ) Seitz, Nick and Micaela Ruiz, Adam Gonzalez, Lauren Badilla, Allison Badilla, and Brandon Badilla, and her great-grandchildren, Caleb Newman, Kaliee Newman, Brianna Newman, Matthew Gonzalez, Aidan Gonzalez, Victoria Newman, Samantha Newman, Sierra Gonzalez, Macy Ruiz, Robert John (RJ) Ruiz, Tahlia Ferdin, Sophia Ferdin, Mia Ferdin, Reynaldo Silva III.

The family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with loved ones who preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held on July 17, 2026. The family asks for continued prayers and remembrance.
