Paula Amaro Gonzalez

Paula Gonzalez, age 88, of Reedley, California passed away peacefully on 02/16/2026. She was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and moved to Texas as a teenager with her family. There she met her future husband, Gabriel Gonzalez. They married in 1955 and lived in Rio Grande, Texas. In 1961, they made the move to California for a better life. They established roots and she lived the entirety of her life in Reedley, raising a family and becoming a respected member of her community. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she had a unique gift for making everyone she met feel she met feel like family. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, always filled with the aroma of her legendary cooking. She found her greatest joy spending time with her grandchildren. Whether she was showing family her delicious recipes, her hands were always busy with something that brought beauty and comfort to others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel, her parents, Jose and Norberta Amaro; and sisters Graciela Mullins and Socorro Gonzalez. Her memory will be forever cherished by those she leaves behind: her children, Juan, Nelda, Rene, Gus, and Martha; her 16 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren and sister Carmen Carillo.

A celebration of Paula Gonzalez’ life will be held at the old St.Anthony’s Church, March 4, 2026 in Reedley, CA at 11 am . The family invites all who knew her to attend and share their favorite memories of a woman who made the world a brighter place.
