He was born on November 19, 1957 and raised in Reedley where he attended elementary schools through Reedley College.
For 41 years Ruben worked for Sierra Kings Hospital/Adventist Health. He started as a groundskeeper, advanced to maintenance technician and retired as a Biomedical Technician.
At age 6, Ruben watched the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show and his love for music thrived. During his music career, he was a member of the Catholic Church Where he played guitar and sand in the church choir. Although most known for the many guitars he played in various bands throughout the years, Ruben also played the harmonica, piano, bass and even the flute in the RHS Band.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Terry; daughters, Brandi Salcido, Holly Salcido, and Analise Cortez and husband Antonio; grandchildren, J.C. Najera, Elijah Paul, and Lanaya Cortez; mother, Rita Salcido; sister, Rosemarie Arenas; and brothers Ben and Charlie Salcido.
