Born on May 8, 1996, in Victorville, CA, to Shawn Michael Monahan and Cindy Jane Klippenstein, Victoria grew up in Barstow, where she attended Skyline North Grammar School, Barstow Junior High, and graduated from Barstow High School. She later studied Animal Sciences at Barstow Community College, following her deep love for animals.
Victoria was a dedicated volunteer, giving her time to the Barstow Humane Society and the Mojave River Valley Museum. She worked at Subway for three years, and following the passing of her mother, she moved to Reedley—a town she quickly fell in love with and proudly called home.
In Reedley, Victoria began working at SaveMart in the Deli Department, where she formed close friendships with her coworkers and always had a cheerful story to share from her day. She often said there was never a boring day working at SaveMart, and she cherished the connections she made there.
Victoria found community and faith at Reedley Mennonite Church, where she became a beloved member. She especially cherished the friendships she formed with the women there and counted Dorothy, whom she met at church, among her closest friends.
Victoria had a passion for sewing and knitting, and she was rarely seen without her yarn and needles in hand—whether at the movies, in restaurants, or even at church. She created scarves, baby hats, blankets, pumpkins, stuffed animals, and gifts of all kinds for those around her. Known for her generosity, Victoria loved to share her craft with others and was always ready to teach anyone who wanted to learn.
One of Victoria’s most treasured weekly rituals was visiting her grandmother, Betty Dancer, at Palm Village to share a meal and spend time together. She also had a close relationship with her Reedley family—Aunt Annette and Uncle Rickey Johnson, and cousins Sariah Johnson and Tyler Ankney—who were a constant source of love and support. Victoria adored family gatherings and celebrations, from birthdays to holidays, and found joy in every moment spent together.
Victoria is preceded in death by her parents, Shawn Michael Monahan and Cindy Jane Klippenstein, and her grandmother, Nancy Sawatzy. She is survived by her brother, Alexander William Monahan; grandmother, Betty Dancer; Aunt and Uncle Annette and Rickey Johnson; and cousins Saraih Johnson, Tyler Ankney, Skye Serna, Ralph Serna, Ella Serna, and Audrey Heil August.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel, 2200 S. Reed Ave., Reedley, CA 93654.
Victoria is loved and cherished by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed, always.
