

Alvin grew up in Moose Jaw and attended Prince Arthur School, St. Mary School, and Vanier Collegiate. He later studied Criminal Justice at Minot State University.
As a child and teenager, Alvin was quiet and soft-spoken, with a reserved nature and a gentle presence. He enjoyed hockey from a young age, including international travel as a peewee player, and he also took part in bowling, football, skiing, and the SSRR and had a black Shetland pony named, Bucky. He had many friends in the neighbourhood and could often be found playing with remote-control cars outside.
Throughout his life, Alvin maintained a wide range of interests. He was an avid Edmonton Oilers fan, enjoyed skiing and travel, and spent time bodybuilding and weight training. He taught English overseas and loved travelling to Thailand.
Alvin worked in a variety of roles over the years, including his early high school jobs (Bonanza, Safeway) and then later in public service roles (including Angus Campbell Detox Centre, Paul Dojack Youth Correctional Centre, and worked alongside the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol during his university summer breaks. He started his career in corrections after he finished University, where he worked for over 20 years. He was well respected by colleagues for his quiet professionalism and steady presence. In July 2024, he was awarded the Governor General’s Award for Exemplary Service in Corrections.
Those who knew Alvin often described him as reserved but warm; a strong, silent type who was thoughtful, dependable, and kind. Though work could be stressful, it mattered deeply to him, and he took pride in being reliable and supportive to those around him.
Alvin is survived by his son, Jacob; his mom, Teresa; his grandpa Bill (Norma); his step-siblings, Casey (Laurelle) and Kristin (Dan); his father, Carey and wife, Nok.
He was predeceased by stepdad, Lee; grandmother Fran, well as many aunts, an uncle, and his Boston Terrier, Naicam.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lee Funeral Home and Crematorium, located at 3101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK, S4T0Y5, Canada, on February 18, 2026, starting at 2:00 pm.
