Ann was born and baptized in Regina Grey Nuns Hospital, now known as Pasqua Hospital. Ann was the 6th child born to Theresa and Anton (Tony) Schnurr.
Ann was predeceased by her loving husband Fred, infant daughter Maureen, her parents Anton and Theresa, sister Emma Niedermayer, brothers Cec, Joe and Frank, brothers in law Fred Niedermayer, Harold Matties and Bernard Ehman, and sisters in law Betty Matties and Therese Schnurr. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ehman, daughter, Jodi (Corey) Wilton and grandsons Kyler and Hayden, her son, Michael (Terry) and step-grandchildren Scott (Alex) and Jody, sister in law Ona Matties, brother in law Norman Matties and several nieces and nephews.
Ann was a good student and began her career as a steno at the age of 16 when she was employed by a firm of chartered accountants. She tried several jobs after but was not content until she was hired by a firm of Regina lawyers. She worked there until her marriage to Fred in 1965.
Fred and Ann attended many dances on Saturday evenings before and after their family arrived. They both loved dancing.
Ann loved preparing dinner for her family and always enjoyed the after dinner conversations and games. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She loved them dearly. She enjoyed baking, especially dinner buns and cinnamon buns. They always disappeared quickly.
Ann’s faith was very important to her. It played a major role in her life. She attended Good Samaritan (Our Lady of Peace Parish) since its inception and prior to that, Canadian Martyrs Church.
The family would like to thank the Regina General Hospital and the nurses of 3F for their care and compassion for mom. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
