Uncle Clarence was born near Wilkie Saskatchewan in his grandparent’s house. He joined the Army from 1956-1961 at the age of 18 and was stationed in Germany at Soest. He belonged to the Queens Own Rifles. He just recently received a pin from the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan for his service. He had several jobs over the years first starting in Calgary with his Uncle Ernie and moved on to building grain elevators throughout Alberta. He worked at Dominion Bridge in Regina, Dutch Industries, and when he retired he still worked, joining the Commissionaires. He loved the small town life so in 2009 he moved to Arborfield Saskatchewan where he spent his time renovating his house, painting pictures and enjoying his dogs. Unc always had a dog as long as he had a house. Buck, Bruiser, Bruiser 2, Ginger, George and Tinker are all waiting for him. Spike was his last dog and now resides with family.
Special thanks to Unit 3E at the Regina General Hospital for their compassion and care and to Dr. Wildenboer for accepting him as a patient when he had no family doctor in Regina. Special thanks also to 3A Palliative Care unit at the Pasqua Hospital for the care he received for the remainder of his days. Unc will be dearly missed by his family and friends. At Unc’s request there will be no formal funeral service. Cremation was held on April 25, 2014. Donations in his name may be made to the humane society or the Palliative Care Unit 3A at the Pasqua Hospital.
Arrangements under the direction of Victoria Avenue Funeral Home and Cremation, Regina, SK.
