Clifton Karl Isnana

Pastor Clifton Karl Isnana passed away peacefully with his loving wife Laverne, at his side, after 15 years of marriage, at the hospital in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. He devoted his life to serving the lord and enjoyed singing and playing guitar. He loved to travel to camp meetings across Canada and the USA to fellowship. Clifton worked as a housing inspector with many First Nations across Saskatchewan, as well as the Housing Department at the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council. Clifton also served on the council from 2004-2007 for Standing Buffalo and worked with many organizations to enhance the quality of housing for the band members. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Laverne Isnana; daughters Ashley and Jaylene; grandchildren; sisters Freda Essie and Maxine Isnana; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as brothers and sisters in Christ. He is predeceased by his parents William George Isnana Sr and Theresa Mary Isnana; brothers William George Isnana Jr, Franklin Louis Isnana Sr, Melvin Ralph Isnana Sr, Joseph Lloyd Isnana Sr, Lorne Stanley Isnana; sisters Marcelline Alice Hickman, and Teresa Mae Isnana; as well as a brother and sister in infancy. We would like to thank Standing Buffalo Chief and Council, the nurses and Dr. Joseph Estioco of All Nations Healing Hospital for their loving care, in addition to the File Hills Qu’Appelle Home Care nurses. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will take place on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A public graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Standing Buffalo Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.

Rest in peace brother in law, I'm going to miss your soft spoken, humble, and God fearing self. I can still hear you playing your guitar and singing praises!

I am so sorry to hear about Cliff. I worked with him for many years while he was with the Tribal Council and providing technical services to Communities. I always enjoyed our conversation and looked forward to talking with him.

Clifton was a true man of God who served His creator and his fellow man to the best of his ability. I shall miss him. My sympathy to Laverne and the entire Isnana family. Losing a loved one is hard, but we are given the assurance that those who trust in the finished work of Christ, have absolute assurance of eternal life.

It was with deep sadness when we heard Clifton was that ill. He was a compassionate and loving soul. Rest in Paradise My Friend.

I am saddened to hear of Clifton’s passing. I worked for CMHC and had many interactions with Clifton over 18 years. He was always friendly and worked hard for his home community of Standing Buffalo and the File Hills communities, it was a pleasure working with him. He will be missed, my deepest condolences!!!!
