

Darlene Lillian Wurm (McKenzie), age 70, of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2020. She was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on June 25, 1949. She is predeceased by her mother Anne McKenzie; her father James McKenzie; and her twin brother Dennis McKenzie. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years David Wurm; daughters Alison (Michael) Anderson, Melanie (Jeff) Martin, and Stephanie (Brad) Vance; and her sister Joan (Ron) Pacholko. Her seven grandchildren Sophia and James Anderson, Ian, Isabel and Adam Martin, and Owen and Andrew Vance, were the joy of her life. She was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews, and a loving friend to many. Darlene was a teacher with Regina Catholic Schools for 25 years, and she touched countless lives of her students and colleagues, many of whom are dear friends. She loved teaching and continued to volunteer in classrooms after her retirement, sharing her love of reading with children. Darlene shared this love of reading with her book club friends who meant so much to her. She also volunteered her time at the Regina Food Bank and other local charities. Darlene loved cooking, but she was a particularly talented baker. She loved traveling the world with her family and friends. Darlene was a kind and generous person who lived for others, touching lives with her acts of kindness. The family would like to acknowledge the staff of Regina General Hospital’s Surgical Intensive Care Unit for their compassionate care of Darlene.
