David, also known to many as “Bones”, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. David was born February 26, 1976 in Grenfell, Saskatchewan. Out of 8 children, David was the 6th child and baby boy to Josephine and Laurie. David was predeceased by his father Laurie Poness; maternal grandparents, Patrick and Mary Agnes Cappo; paternal grandparents, John and Mary Alice Ponace; uncle Patrick Cappo; aunt Betty Ponace; cousins George Piapot and Shermen Ponace. David is survived by his common-in-law wife Danitra McNabb; son Clayton McNabb; daughter Shaylyn Sanderson; his mother Josephine Cappo; his siblings, Ron (Cindy), Marilyn (Ben), Joe (Sylvia), Lori (Tim), Leon (Christine), Crystal (Wayne), and Jaclyn. He also leaves to mourn his 3 grandchildren, Cassius, John Paul, Xavier Dean; mother-in-law Pat McNab; father-in-law Delbert McNabb; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. A Traditional Wake will be held on Piapot First Nation on Wednesday, June 21st, 2017 at 4:00 pm. Services will be held on Thursday, June 22nd, 2017 at 11:00 am. Lunch to follow interment will be at Piapot Cemetery. A big heartfelt thanks to Elder Murray Ironchild, Chief and Council, Regina General Emergency and ICU for all of their help.
