Editha passed away peacefully at Grace Hospice, in Regina, SK on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at the age of 95 years old. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Martin Gohlke of Kitimat, BC, Harald (Elaine) Gohlke and family of Regina, SK and Eric (Kandis) Gras and family of Red Deer, AB; daughter Melodie (Ernest) Kull and family of Winnipeg, MB. Editha will also be remembered by her seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; dear friend, Marlena Felsing; special nephews Wolf Hornstein-Draegenstein, of BC; and Bernd Donges, of Germany; as well as other nieces and nephews in Germany. Born in 1924 in Landsberg Warthe, Germany. Editha immigrated to Canada in 1952 with her first husband, Walter Gohlke, and their young family, settling in Regina. She worked for many years as a medical stenographer at the Grey Nuns Hospital and for Surgical Associates. After retiring in 1986, she moved with her second husband, George Gras, to Fanny Bay on Vancouver Island, and then to Comox after George’s passing in 1988. Editha loved cruises, and during her time in BC she enjoyed many trips to the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska. During this time, she also spent many winters in Arizona and travelled extensively around Europe. She returned to Regina in 2003 to be closer to her children and friends, eventually moving to College Park as one of its first residents, and recently to Qu’Appelle House. She enjoyed visiting with the many people she met at College Park and Qu’Appelle House, but her greatest joy was seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and welcoming a great-great-grandchild.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no funeral service.
