

It is with heartfelt sadness the Walker family announces the sudden passing of Floyd Walker on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the age of 93. Floyd was born on February 26, 1928 in Osage, SK. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Kathleen Walker (Edmonds) on August 12, 2017; his father David Leroy Walker and mother Gertrude Walker; brother Leonard Walker; sisters Vera Hollister (brother-in-law Keith Hollister), Jean Holdabrandt; brothers-in-law Andy Mattioda, Matt Baranow, Otto Stangler, and sister-in-law Jean Walker (Grimson). He is survived by his son Melvin Walker; daughter Sharon Walker; sisters Elaine Stangler of Medicine Hat, AB, Helen Mattioda of Kelowna, BC, and Yvonne Baranow of Kelowna, BC; grandchildren Tyler Stewart, Deserae Walker (Justin), Logan Walker, and Skyla Walker; great-granddaughter Temari Ponace; a great-grandchild on the way; as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends. Floyd was a truck driver for over 30 years. His passion in life was fishing and hunting. Floyd and Kathleen owned a cottage for many years at Uhl’s Bay, SK. He enjoyed carpentry on the side, building campers, and homes etc. In 1985, with the help of his son Melvin, Floyd built the home he and Kathleen would retire in Lumsden, SK. They lived in that house for over 30 years. Kathleen passed away in 2017, and in 2019 after suffering a massive stroke, he was forced to move to William Booth Special Care Home in Regina where he resided until his passing. Floyd and his family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and caregivers at William Booth that looked after him. Their compassion and unending care was appreciated, especially during these difficult COVID times. A private memorial service for Floyd will be held at a later date.
