Gary James Rice

Garry Rice passed away at the age of 72 years on May 2, 2015. Gary was predeceased by his parents Sidney and Marie, sister Norma, brother-in-law Bill Thomas and sister-in-law Dorothy Rice. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of 51 years along with his brothers Roger, Ralph, Brian, Owen and sisters Melanie Thomas and Elaine (Art) Trevin along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his extended family Anne Ethier (Louis,) Marge McKenna, Edith Ruddock, Louise O’Connor, Henry Grunsky and Garry Grunsky (Annie). Gary was born in Wadena, SK and grew up on a farm in St. James. He went to Norwegian Grove School and then to St. Peters College in Muenster. Gary had many health problems after his major stroke in 2000, but always remained cheerful. He worked in the automotive business since he was 17 years old, Humboldt Motors, Maclin Motors in Calgary and Percival Mercury since 1964. He loved Fords and aviation and had his private pilot’s license. Many thanks to Extendicare Parkside, for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
