Nov 1,1938 - Nov 9, 2025
Our family is sad to announce the passing of our much-loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Gertrude (Trudy) Mary Davidson, who died peacefully on Sunday November 9, 2025.
Trudy was predeceased by parents, Edith and Bill Smith; sister Carol Machan; and brother Jim Smith.
Trudy will be sorely missed by her sisters Amy Hardie and Betty Lou Napady; children Jim, Mike, and Jill Davidson; numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Trudy was survived by ex-husband Warner Davidson.
Trudy worked as secretary of the music department at the University of Regina from 1978 until she retired in 2003. She was highly regarded by students and faculty for her dedication and hard work. Trudy's interests were many, including history, world politics, literature, and music. She was an avid reader. She played piano and took up the trombone, joining the Regina Community Orchestra. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking and - being around her grandkids, whenever they could visit. She was known as “Grandma Rudy" by the grandkids, a name she loved. She kept track of their heights on a wall in her kitchen. They will miss her dearly.
Trudy donated to UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders and was a member of the Regina Humane Society.
Thank you to the compassionate and hard-working teams at Pasqua Hospital, Wascana Rehab Centre, Pioneer Village, William Booth and Noonan Villa Care Homes. And special thanks to the wonderful staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Pasqua Hospital for their love, care and support for Trudy and her family.
