Gertie went into God’s care on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Regina, SK, at the age of 96 years. Gertie was predeceased by her daughter Martha, her son Joey, two sisters Evelyn & Julia and two brothers August & Eddie. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Della (Harold) Haider; son Ivan (Carol) Mayer; grandchildren Dwight (Tammy), Darrell (Laurie), Warren (Christine), Randy (Joyce), Annette, Michele, Yvonne (Blaine), Tammy (Grant), Terry (Candace), Tracy, Vivian (Herve) and Terry; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; one sister Eva; one brother Pete; and a large extended family. Prayers will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 8:00pm at Victoria Ave Funeral Home - 2080 Victoria Avenue East. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10:30am at St. James RC Church, Southey, Sk. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gertie’s memory can be made to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Association.
