

Harold James Shanks passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Thursday April 11th 2013 at age 83 years. Harold was born on July 7th 1929 and was raised in Carievale Saskatchewan. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Ethel, his two sons; Jim and wife Sheryl Ann of Pilot Butte, Dale and his wife Wendy of Nokomis, 6 grandchildren; Trina (Rob) of White City, Darren (Heidi) of Regina, Melissa (Blair) of Regina, Cory (Teresa) of Vanscoy, Teryn (Michael) of Humboldt and Shalyn (Todd) of Maple Creek, 16 great grandchildren; Devan and Dayton Buchanan, Carson, Aidan and Isaac Shanks, Olivia and Ian Randall, Madison and Gracie Cole, Kyle and Kolby Ulriksen, Austin, Ava, Charlotte and Sawyer Sabean, sister Doreen Olney, stepmother Edith Ambrosse, sisters-in-law; Kelly Fowler, Donna Wilson, Joan Senchuck and Lillian Wilson, and many nieces and nephews and extended family. He is predeceased by his parents, granddaughter April Shanks, brother Lloyd, sisters-in-law Erla Shanks and Norma Spencer; brothers-in-law; Ralph Olney, Charlie Spencer, Jack Wilson, Jim Wilson, Allan Fowler and Walter Senchuck, great nephew Preston Meyer. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 2:00PM at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pilot Butte Cemetery, Palliative Care Division or a charity of your choice.
