It is with great sadness Helen’s family announce her passing on Sunday, December 29, 2019 in Regina, SK. She was predeceased by her husband Albert; parents George and Angela; brothers Joe and Fred; two sisters; and great granddaughter Madison. Helen is survived by her children Dennis (Jan); Lori (Laurier) and Norman; grandchildren Jana (Randy), Trevor (Richelle), Natalie, Chad (Sonja), Carmen (Corey), Jacqueline, Jadon, Joshua and Jared; great grandchildren Bailey, Taylor, Austin, Ethan, Payton, Jase, Shyla and Emmrie; brother Mike (Ann); and numerous extended family and friends. Helen was a kind, giving and generous person who always helped or gave to anyone and everyone in need. She would always send care packages with treats or lunch for the next day. Helen loved to garden and grow her many flowers. She was a great cook and loved to bake. She was very active in her church in Fairlight, making many church banners, and also participating in Mass at her church in Regina. She loved volunteering to cook and bake at the Boys and Girls Camp in Kenosee for staff and campers. She also volunteered her time at Pioneer Village Nursing Home as a porter for Mass on Sundays and then delivering Communion to those who couldn’t attend Mass. She made over 200 patchwork baby blankets to donate to Birthright of Regina. Helen loved to knit and crotchet, cross stitch, needlepoint, make fancy cards, and decorate cakes. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Balgonie, SK. I met Helen once, last winter. I went to pick up the baby blankets that she had made for Birthright' babies. I was impressed by all the blankets she made while being homebound.
She was so sweet! I will keep praying for her soul and her family.

On behalf of Birthright Of Regina, I offer our sincere condolences on the loss of such a wonderful and generous Woman!
We have had the extreme pleasure and privilege of knowing Helen... and being the recipients of her many beautiful hand crafted blankets for the clients who have come through Birthright, all these years!
May God grant Helen eternal rest .....and reward her for all she has done through her kindness in helping keep the little ones warm with all her lovely blankets to embrace them!

Lori , Norman, and the rest of Helen's family....My sincere sympathy in the loss of your wonderful mother. I only think I had met you two while I was secretary of Grace Lutheran Church, and had our office in the space of Grace Place. For the past 20 years, I have received a Christmas Card from Helen, and this year I missed one, always with photo of her and her grandchildren. I was worried about her then, and didn't know she had passed away until I got the newspaper on Monday. I didn't know she was sick or I certainly would have paid her a visit. I thought the world of both her and her good husband Albert. I had visited him when he was in hospital many years ago.
I'm sorry I can't get to the funeral, as it is out of town, and I don't highway drive anymore. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. With fond regards....Shirley Walton

I was saddened to read of your mom's passing yesterday. She was a favorite teacher of mine for 4 years in Frobisher beginning with Grade 3 in the little grey classroom that was attached behind the red brick building in those days. I have many memories of time spent in her classrooms. Your parents were great friends to my Uncle Alex Rowley and valued members of the Frobisher community. Wishing you peace and healing at this sad time...Beth

Helen will be greatly missed at Grosvenor House! We moved in here within a month of each other. Helen’s banana loaf and pancake breakfast is legendary at 1610 College Avenue! Her friendly, quiet manner made everyone at ease.
