On Thursday, March 5, 2020 Helene Gayle (Bishop, Sadler) Duncan passed away, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of eighty at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK. She was born on February 17, 1940 as the youngest of three children to Alice and Melville Sadler. She was a talented and well-known realtor in Regina for over twenty-five years.
Helene was predeceased by her daughter Raylene and grandson Thomas.
She is survived by her husband John and her sister Valerie. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Jo-Lea (Alexander “Al”) Romanow and their children Alexander (fiancée McKenzie), Erika (Greg), and Victoria (Landon); her son Joey Bishop and his children Aedan (his mother, Leanne Mclaughlin), Berkley, and Beckhem; and grandchildren Jakeb and Olivia and their father Greg Reis. She also leaves behind Gayle Duncan and her children Kobe and Ben and Richard Duncan and his children Skylar and Jasmine; as well as her best friends Carol Mitchell, Joyce Hodson, and Joan Shepherd.
Helene was a giver – a very humble and unselfish person who always put others ahead of herself. She was a devoted wife, an exceptional mother, a loving grandmother (Grammie or Mimi), a caring little sister, a special aunt, and a wonderful and kind friend.
She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything else and never ended a conversation without saying, “I love you”, which was always lovingly reciprocated.
Thank you to the incredible ICU staff at the Pasqua Hospital.
At Helene’s request, the family will be celebrating her life privately.
In honour of Helene, donations may be made in her name to The Lung Association of Saskatchewan www.lungsask.ca/donate
