The family of Hilda Stroh regretfully announce her passing on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, William; her children: Linda (Thomas) Franke, Gerald (Brenda), Glenn (Shelley); her grandchildren: Thomas (Jennifer) Franke, Quenton (Laura) Franke, Jillane (Paul) Bazin, Kale Stroh (Jessica Baer), Brodie Stroh, Chelsey (Mike) Robinson, Courtney Stroh; her great grandchildren: Kenna, Walker and Wyatt Franke, Karalynn and Alexander Franke; her sisters: Renatta Thomas and Lydia (Peter) Fawcett; her brother, Fred (Tiny) Warm; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant son, Kevin, her infant daughter, Theresa; her mother, Irma Warm; three infant siblings and her sister, Agnes (Gordon) Miller.
Hilda was a dedicated home maker, making sure her home was spic and span for her family and visitors. She always enjoyed this and took great pride in it. In fact, she liked it so much she also cleaned show homes for many years.
Hilda was an excellent cook and baker having picked up some of those skills working at The Hotel Saskatchewan and Maple Leaf Bakery. She decorated cakes, especially wedding cakes, with great skill and pride for all occasions - if you knew Hilda and were getting married you probably had her decorate or bake and decorate your wedding cake. There seemed to be wedding cakes on the go most of the time.
Hilda always had a wonderful garden and loved growing Gladiolas which were always on display in the dining room when in season. She loved time with family, making sure to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries no matter what. She cherished being out with friends for coffee, bowling or dancing.
