James Robert “Bob” Minor passed away at the age of 78 years, on Sunday, June 12, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Dorothy; his children Carolyn (Don) Lang, Jim (Lori) Minor, Gerald (Cindy) Minor, Linda (Mike) Monea, Tracey Minor, & Crystal (Blaine) Dodds; grandchildren Jason (Rebecca) Lang, Seth Lang, Adam (Sarah) Minor, Matthew (Charity) Minor, Luke, Reanne and Kale Derkson; step grandchildren Tyler (Edlyn) Klatt, Kasey (Sara) Klatt, Vanessa and Dallas Sauer; great grandchildren Sienna Minor & Max Lang; special mention of Jessica Stanley; and very important mention must be made of Dorothy’s 9 sisters and two brothers and their extended families who Bob considered a treasured part of his life. Bob was a family man who loved all sports but none greater than hockey. He was a coach, a fan, and a lover of sit down time with people he met wherever he went. As a young man, he was an elite track athlete. In 1952, he married the love of his life Dorothy and from that day his path was changed. As a husband, he adored her. As a father, he became 100% immersed in his children and spared no energy or time to build the adventrues of camping, boating and family life. As a grandpa, his life changed again and his greatest passion above all others became his grandchildren. He loved them all dearly and they will forever be enriched by the escapades and long talks they shared with him. He followed each one of them closely through their every endeavor. As a man, he was a kind and jovial person who loved to make people laugh. His generous heart found him giving all his time and worth to others and he wanted very little for himself except for the fastest boat on the water. The husband, the father, the grandfather he was, has made a huge impact on us all and he will be missed. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Royal Regina Golf Club, 5401 11th Avenue, Regina, SK, from 1:00 – 4:00pm with a program at 2:00pm.
