
Joseph Lawrence Abello passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 9th at the age of 84 years. Joe is survived by his wife, Blanche; his step-children Laurie (Greg) Yuzwa, Carole (Brian) Spooner, Ken (Corinne) Pereyma and Kathy (Robin) Butler.; sister Giacinta; brothers Father Lawrence S.J., in India, Tony, Father Louis, and numerous nieces; nephews and friends. Joe was pre-deceased by his parents, John and Lucy Abello, and two brothers in infancy. Joe was born on May 29th, 1926 on the farm near Lewvan, Saskatchewan, where he farmed most of his life. He attended Gough School in the Lewvan district and St. Anthony's College in Edmonton, Alberta. Joe obtained his journeyman papers in carpentry in 1962. Joe persevered through many health problems while he farmed for over 50 years with his brother Tony. Joe retired in Sedley, Saskatchewan where he enjoyed visiting, church activities and photography. Family, friends and the Church were very important to Joe, and he kept in touch with relatives in Italy and France. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Louis Abello on Saturday, February 12th, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Sedley, Saskatchewan.
