Linda Luanne (Marin, Riemer) Davidson was born June 14, 1955 to Elie and Capitola Marin in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. She was the fourth child of a family of eight. At an early age she moved with her family to The Pas, Manitoba, then Gillam, and next to Cranberry Portage.
Linda excelled at school and graduated from Frontier Collegiate Institute with honors. Her first job was at the Royal Bank in Cranberry Portage. Math was her forte and she worked as a teachers aide at Frontier Collegiate. Jenny once said she had the only Mom who could help with high school math.
She fell in love for the first time with Arthur Riemer and they were married in August 1973 on the shores of Lake Athapapuskow. They welcomed two children into their family Jennifer in 1977 and Jeffrey in 1979. They lived and thrived as part of the Cranberry Portage community.
One of her greatest skills was her ability to make friends easily and keep them for a lifetime. She had a warm open heart and people were drawn to her.
Linda showed great courage when her first husband Art passed away tragically in 1997 and she was left to navigate the challenges of life. She moved to Saskatoon for a year and enjoyed living in a city and all the amenities it had to offer.
Linda fell in love again and in February of 2004 she and Darcey Davidson were married. Together they enjoyed a full home life. Many trips to southern climes, especially Cuba, presented an opportunnity to meet new people and add them to her large group of wonderful friends. These friendships opened up a chance to visit the east coast and experience more of what Canada had to offer. Linda and Darcey also travelled to Palm Springs with friends and neighbours from Cranberry all enjoying a wonderful week of fun in the sun.
She enjoyed the life she lived as a member of the RCMP family. The communities she lived in, Thompson, Russell and Dauphin, Manitoba, Wetaskiwin, Alberta and Warman, Saskatchewan, the people she met and the dinners and formal balls. She especially enjoyed the rodeo in Ponoka and watching Darcey lead the parade on horseback, wearing his red serge and again gathered a large group of wonderful friends.
Linda and Darcey moved back to Cranberry to enjoy their retirement years surrounded by loving friends and neighbours. A visit to Linda's home was always a wonderful experience. Winter was filled with ice fishing and delicious dinners and summer filled with boating, fishing, evening bonfires and shore lunch.
Linda was a great dancer and the two step was her favorite. She had an innate ability to commune with flowers. A visit to her garden instilled a sense of calm. You were again surrounded by her gentle touch.
On July 4, 2021, Linda slipped away to join her family in heaven. She was predeceased by her parents, Elie and Capitola Marin, her first husband Art Riemer , her son-in-law Dylon Piper and sister-in -law Connie Davidson.
