Loretta Nepinak

February 25, 1985 – July 3, 2023

Loretta passed away unexpectedly on July 3, 2023, in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Loretta was born on February 25, 1985, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Lorelei and Nelson Nepinak Sr. She spent her early childhood in Winnipeg, MB, Vancouver, BC, and Yorkton, SK, eventually making Regina her home. She started her own family in 2001 with Aaron Kaye. Loretta was predeceased by her sons Leiden and Brody; father Nelson Sr.; paternal grandfather Edmund Nepinak; and numerous other relatives. Left to mourn her passing are her mother Lorelei of Calgary, AB; paternal grandmother Irene Nepinak of Yorkton, SK; sons Oliver, Ajay, Michael and Nelson III; daughters Aara-lynn, Denise, Rachelle, J’lynn, and Marley; siblings Dwayne (Patsy) of Regina, SK; Troy of Winnipeg, MB; Jonathan of Pine Creek, SK; Nelson Jr. of Vancouver, BC; Nina of Edmonton, AB; Tahsina, Hasina, and Ahmed of Vancouver, BC; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Loretta loved her children unconditionally, speaking of them frequently and expressing how much she missed them. Although she struggled with addictions, she always made time to visit family and friends. Loretta loved to joke around and had a laugh that could be recognized instantly, making you say: “Brett is that you!?” She would reply: “Yes!”

Loretta will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A wake for Loreta will be held Monday, July 10, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM Tuesday, at Indigenous Christian Fellowship, 3131 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4T 0Y5. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Morning Star Ministries, 3540 6th Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan S4T 0N5.
