Lynda Seibel

March 29, 1943February 7, 2021

Lynda Seibel, passed away peacefully at the General Hospital in Regina on February 7, 2021. She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Lydia Weinbender of Moose Jaw, and lives on in the loving memories of her husband Henry, daughter Jan (David), son Chris (Christine) and the many people in the large web of extended family and friends that knew and loved her.

Lynda was born in Chaplin and raised on a farm just south of Uren. At 17 she moved to the big city of Regina where she trained as a teacher. Quickly earning her teaching certificate, Lynda headed out to make her way in the world. Lynda taught in a Droxford and Main Centre, and then landed a teaching position in Morse where she met Henry, a nice farm boy and hard-working labourer who was to be the love of her life. Lynda moved to Moose Jaw to teach at Palliser school and Henry found himself there too, working in construction. They started dating and shortly after they decided to get married. Two kids followed shortly after, Jan and Chris. By then, Henry and Lynda had settled in Regina where they would stay for most of the rest of their time together.

Lynda enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening, puzzles, baking, and watching sports especially football. Most of all she enjoyed hosting family and friends for many celebrations and get-togethers. Lynda made the best buns on the block, and could whip up a turkey dinner for two or twenty in the blink of an eye. A house full of laughter, smiles, full bellies and cheer made her happiest of all. Never one to turn away a visitor, Lynda’s door was always open and the coffee on.

A celebration of Lynda’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Lynda’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

We never met Lynda, but heard so many lovely things about her from our next door neighbors in Houston, Chris and Christine. Chris is such a great man, that we are sure his parents are equally wonderful.
