Marion Haluik

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Marion Haluik. Marion was born on September 15, 1955, to John and Helen Neufeld in Swift Current, SK, and was raised on the family farm in Rhineland, SK, as the youngest of 10 children, John (Eva), Peter (Julia), Bill (Helen), Esther (Bob), Edna (Dennis), Ben (Brenda), Ed (Julie), Howard (Marquita), and Betty (Dave). Marion met the love of her life and soulmate, Cornell Haluik, in February of 1975. They later married on July 6, of the same year. On January 27, 1976, they had their first daughter, Daphne Schmidt (Jason), and 3 short years later on March 21, 1979, their family was complete with the birth of their youngest daughter, Alana Solvdi (James). It was in 1993 their family began to grow again with the birth of their first grandchild, Cody Schmidt, with their next grandchild following in 1996, Dakota Schmidt (Aubrey). In 2017 Marion and Cornell welcomed their first great grandchild, Abel Schmidt. It was in 2020 they joyfully welcomed two of their newest family members, twin granddaughters, Jordan and Charlie Sovdi. Marion is predeceased by her parents John and Helen; brother John; sister-in-law Eva; and daughter Daphne. Marion’s greatest passion and love in life was her family. It was said by one of the greatest writers of all times that “grief is the price we pay for love.” So how fortunate are we as Marion’s husband, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, to feel a grief that will last for the rest of our lives until we meet again. A Memorial Service for Marion will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Celebration Church, 3130 E Renfrew Crescent, Regina, SK.
