

Marjorie Ann French (Nee Francis, formerly Bell) of Saskatoon, Sask. passed away on the morning of Wednesday, June 21st 2017 at the age of 77. Marj is survived by her brothers (Jim and Glen), four children, three stepchildren, eleven grandchildren (Jerrot, Sophie, Hannah, Kirsten, Jaden, Brandy, Byron, Amanda, Stephen, Joshua and Christina), and four great-grandchildren (Colin, Madison, Leena and Breanna).
Marj was born in Moose Jaw on April 13th, 1940. She attended Scott Collegiate High School and shortly after she married Jim Bell at age 18 and had four children; Kim (Regina 1959), Dawn (Vancouver 1959), Keith (Elmira 1961) and Todd (Calgary 1963).
Following high school Marj had a career in modeling, secretarial work at Percival Mercury (Regina), administrative work at Security Building Supplies (Saskatoon), Mark’s Work Warehouse (Saskatoon), and Weight Watchers (Saskatoon).
Marj remarried in 1988 to John French at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon. Her stepchildren include Michelle (Vancouver), Jonathan (Saskatoon) and Paul (BC). Marj and John were married for 20 years before he passed away to cancer in 2008.
Marj had many hobbies, some of her passions in life included needlepoint/petit point where she produced many beautiful small and large pieces. She also loved to bake; she often sold many of her favorite cookies in local fundraisers.
Guests are invited to share their stories of how Marjorie brought humor and fun into their life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made directly to The Alzheimer Society of Canada. A funeral service will be held at the Victoria Avenue Funeral Home (2080 Victoria Avenue E) on Monday, June 26th, 2017 at 2 pm with a reception to follow.
