Minnie was born sept 16 1925, in the Canora District. She met and married Mike Glowatsky, and they farmed near Preeceville. After moving to Regina, Mike passed away and Minnie became a single mother. She met and then married another widower and single parent, Joe Kletzel, and suddenly they had a house full of teenagers.
They operated a café and barbershop in Holdfast for several years before moving to Regina.
Minnie enjoyed being a homemaker; she was a great cook and taught her children and grandchildren how to make her borscht, cabbage rolls, perogies, and pies. She loved her flowers and garden. She was very proud, especially of her cucumbers and tomatoes which she always canned. Although the garden patch was small the neighbours always enjoyed the fresh garden fare she shared with them every Fall.
Minnie liked to sew, crochet, and knit, and made several scarves and slippers for family and friends. She had a kind heart, a bit of a different sense of humour, and a great memory.
One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A visit from them would lift her spirits for days.
Minnie had many health problems over the years. This past year, as her health failed, she showed her family the meaning of perseverance, courage, strength, and endurance; some might say it was her stubbornness or determination. She was a great role model for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
