

Morris Wilfred Campbell passed away peacefully in Palliative Care on February 13, 2013. Morris was born at home in Regina on April 7, 1929. He was predeceased by parents Annie and Wilfred Campbell, sister Angie (Agnes) Reid, and brother G.R. Donald Campbell, and is survived by Sheila, his loving wife and companion for 58 years, children Margaret (Walter) Kuzyk, Neil (Brenda) Campbell, Irene Campbell (Gerry Thomas), Brenda (Bill) Sisson, Donna Phillips (Murray Beckley), 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Sheenagh Campbell, and nieces and nephews. Morris attended Strathcona Public School, Balfour Collegiate and Regina College, before heading to University of Saskatchewan where he obtained his Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts at the age of 19. He began his career with a year each as teacher/principal at Macoun, Rouleau and Alameda , where he met his wife to be Sheila. He returned to Regina and served as an educational officer at the Regina Jail, before moving on to Balfour Collegiate as a teacher.He took a sabbatical to attend the University of Alberta to complete his Masters in Educational Administration, and returned to Campbell Collegiate as a vice-principal for one year, then back to Balfour as a vice-principal and then principal. Morris and his family moved to Dauphin when an opportunity arose to work with the architect and planning team and then become principal of the new comprehensive secondary school. Another return to Regina saw Morris move to the provincial Department of Advanced Education until his retirement. Throughout his life family was uppermost, but he enjoyed community service as a Scout leader, hockey referee, and church board member, and spent many hours involved in music, playing the violin, singing in choirs, and performing in musicals. Morris and Sheila travelled in Saskatchewan and around the world, enjoyed dancing, golfing, curling, playing bridge and working around the yard and pond. Morris spent his whole career working to better youth, spent his leisure time with many good friends, and spent his life loving his wife and children. At Morris’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. A memorial for immediate family will be held at a later time. Flowers are gratefully declined.
