

Predeceased by his father Alec Poorman, WW I Veteran; mother Elsie Poorman (Machiskinic); siblings, Lorne, Vernon, Kelly, Margaret (Margie), Isabelle, Eva, Marlene, Darlene, Leslie, Mervin, Joe(Sonny).
Paul is survived by his partner, Eileen Kaiswatum; sons, Nigel Kaiswatum, Elijah Poorman, and Isaiah Kaiswatum; grandchildren, Elena, Laya, Mya and Sylas; brothers, Henry, Doug (Donna), Wendell, Myron (Connie); special nephews, Claude (Augie), Utin, Winston, and Mark, Douglas (Dougie); special nieces, Carrie, Amy, Lori, and Annette.
Paul was a proud member of Kawacatoose First Nation. He was a loving father who cherished his sons, and grandchildren. Paul was an athlete and loved playing fastball and hockey. He was considered a homerun hitter and played for Gordon’s Golden Hawks in the league and tournaments. He also enjoyed playing hockey at any opportunity in the local leagues or tournaments.
Paul loved and lived the pow-wow life with his family. He travelled to many pow-wows throughout Canada and the United States. He loved watching his children and grandchildren dancing pow wow. He always mentioned dancing himself, at Red Mountain pow wow in Arizona. He loved meeting and visiting many of his pow wow family.
Paul loved his siblings, and extended family and enjoyed joking and laughing.
Paul was quite the character, and told many a tale, or too. He had quite a personality and made many friends throughout turtle island. He had the gift to make fast friends and can speak with anyone.
A Wake will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2026 at 4:00 pm at Indigenous Christian Fellowship Center, 3131 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK. With a Service to follow on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 11:00 am. Paul will be laid to rest at Kawacatoose First Nation.
