Rena's family is saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the age of 75 years. Rena was a proud mother of 9 children, 31 grandchildren and -54 great grandchildren. Her passions were spending time with family, raising and taking care of her grandchildren, baking for family, friends, school functions, Elders bingos and attending her granddaughter's dance recitals. She enjoyed going to the city with her children and grandchildren almost every day to do shopping, luncheons or whatever the day would bring. Growing up Rena had a small family but she raised a huge family and gained many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rena was a natural when it came to raising a family and keeping her family close. Her house was always clean and organized and her fridge was always filled with delicious food all sorts of baking. Rena cherished and had a special connection with all her children and grandchildren, especially Jordan whom she helped raise since birth. Rena has a very loving presence and her house had a special warmth. Her grandchildren would never want to leave when they visited her and would cry to visit when they were away from her. She was a strong and independent woman whom would help anyone when needed and never expected anything in return. Rena left behind many wonderful memories and will be greatly missed but she will never be forgotten. She is predeceased by her grandmother Cecile Racette, mother Rose Beavlieu, grandfather Joseph Racette, father Alan Racette, husband Patrick and sons Remy and Darcy. Rena will be survived by children Darrell (Marilyn), Patrick Jr. (Cindy), Wanda (Alfred), Janice (Luke), Dwayne (Debbie), Sharon (Warren), Curtis (Nora), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Service will be held at Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Avenue, on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
