Richard William Jasper

July 24, 1935October 26, 2020

Dickie passed away peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2020 at the age of eighty-five. He was predeceased by his wife of over 61 years Marina (Linford); parents Louise (Hayward) and Ernest Jasper; and his brother and sisters. He is survived by his children Rick (Tracy), Randy (Lori), Rob (Glenda), and Joy (Rob); as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A hard working farmer all his life, Dickie was also well-known for his talent in hockey and softball. He captained the Raymore Rockets to several Provincial and Leaque hockey championships over his 25 year career, and won five softball provincial championships with the Serath ball team in the 50's. Grandpa Dickie will be remembered by his family as fun, loving and energetic, whether he was making milk shakes, catching kittens, playing tag on the bales, or hosting bonfires at the farm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Memorial Service will be private for family, and will be held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue East in Regina, SK on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Those who wish to view a livestream of the service may visit the Victoria Avenue Funeral Home Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/VictoriaAvenueFuneralHome/

I'll cherish the memories of Dickie and Marina Jasper forever, I loved you both as if you were my own grandparents, and you treated me as if I was one of your own grandchildren, I will never forget that, thank you for the times we had. While the pain to see you both go hurts all of those you touched, the memories of you both will carry us through, it brings me joy to know you are both together again in those golden fields and greener pastures. Until the day we see each other to share life's stories once again, I love you both! My condolences to all the Jasper family for such a great loss of two of the most wonderful people to touch so many lives, you are all in our hearts, keep the memories alive!
Love Big Ryan, Jesse & Eliza

Rick, Randy, Rob, Joy and families. Today will be a very sad day as you say goodbye to Dickie, what a wonderful man. He and Marina were like second parents to us, all the good times spent playing ball , the time at the farm after tournaments created alot of wonderful memories. Take care and treasure all of your great memories as well. (HUGS) to you all.

Deepest Sympathy to the entire Jasper family. We always cherished our visits as Dickie & Marina were such a great pair of neighbours whose door was always open and would help out whenever needed.
Being so talented, smart and strong, Dickie could have made a living playing hockey. It was always enjoyable to play sports with him. We always traveled to practice and games together either leaving vehicles at Charlie & Marion’s store or else at Serath often getting home in the wee hours after an out of town game.
Dickie was a hard worker and could fix or repair any piece of machinery but always had time for a visit.
We miss not seeing them out and about or in the yard as we drive by their farm.
Sending prayers to all and hope memories will bring comfort.
Rest In Peace.
Jordon & Lorna Hillier and family.

Such great memories of uncle Dickie. All the years of him and auntie marina playing cards with mom and dad. Also the half time football games during the many grey cup parties at their house. He will be missed.

Your dad was a card. He was always up to something funny. I can just hear them, Dickie saying or doing something and Marina shaking her head and saying “oh Dickie “. He made all around him smile, a quality that not all possess. He will be missed by so many. Cherish your many memories. From Doug and Marlene Purdue and family.

Dear Rickie, Randy, Robbie, Joy and family.
Richard and Ellen Hodel send their deepest sympathy. We are all very sorry for your loss. I will forever remember your Mom's beautiful face and your Dad's gigantic sense of humour. It seemed like my Grandpa Douglas Hayward and your Dad Dickie were always together and having a fabulous time. Whether it was working or playing, there was always a wild roar. Yes, I am old enough to remember that! Lol
You are truly blessed to have grown up surrounded by so much love and laughter.

We pray that the love of your wonderful family and friends soften your sorrow.
Love: Ellen & Richard, Gay, Joyce and Dawn
