Remembering Rita Solie It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mom, grandma, and great grandma. Rita passed away at the age of 86 years with her daughter and son by her side. She was born and raised in Francis, Saskatchewan where she met her husband Joseph Solie. They shared their lives together at Sedley and Regina for 66 years. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her son Vern (Yvonne); daughter Darlene; grandchildren and great grandchildren Reena (Skip) Legien (Nolan, Layne, Kasey, Ricki – Jay), Bret (Ashlee) Solie (Jase), and Mallory Solie (Russ Siebert) (Lincoln and Acelyn Bezan), (Brooklyn and Sierra Siebert). She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Terry Solie and several nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by husband Joseph Solie; her parents Mary and Christian Klein; siblings Amanda (Gord) Oates, Bernie (Don) Spencer, Alex Klein, Orie (Joe) Stauber, Phyllis (Gene) Dielschneider, Larry Klein and Terry’s husband Ralph Solie; sisters in law Deli Klein, Cheryl Klein and special family friend Benny Shymko. Our mom was talented in many trades. She taught Benny how to ride the bus. It did not take long and Benny was teaching her a few things too. She was the Staff Drill Sargent at 3 Auto Body shops. Her other passions included sewing, knitting, baking and cooking. We had 2 small deep freezers just for desserts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Child Roman Catholic Parish, 2636 7th Avenue East, Regina, SK or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation 1738 Quebec Avenue, #26 Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
