December 1936 – December 2019
Robert “Bob” Hamel, eighty three, of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on the morning of December 25, 2019. Bob was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to everyone. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Helen of fifty nine years, daughter Carey (Dale); granddaughter Mikayla, son Brent (Carla); granddaughters Skylar, Sierra and Sloane. Bob worked and dedicated thirty five years to Sears, while his real passion and other full time work was carpentry/ construction. You name it or had a picture of it and Dad would build it. He not only took pride in his workmanship, but truly relished the friends he made while working on a project. Dad was always there to help, whether it be to change a lightbulb or build a house, you could always call and count on Dad to be there. Dad always managed to find time to attend all of our activities, and later on his granddaughters’ activities. He enjoyed going for walks, traveling, fishing and sitting on the back deck enjoying the outdoors. Dad was a gentle, soft spoken man who had a great sense of humor and always appreciated a good laugh. A special thank you to the staff on three West at Pioneer Village for their loving, compassionate care, and support during his time there. At his request there will be no service, but a Celebration of Life at a later date. Followed by a private family interment. Please honour Bob’s life by helping work towards a vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and Dementia by donating at alzheimers.ca or Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan Inc. 2550 12th Ave, Regina, Sk. Gone for now, but never forgotten. Love you Dad and Grandpa.
