Rose passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024 at the age of 92. Rose was born January 1, 1932 to Lorenz and Agnes Leier (Nee Bachmann). Predeceased by her husband Daniel Eberle; and parents. She leaves to mourn her brother Frank Leier; as well as numerous other family members, and friends.
Rose not only had the looks, she definitely had the smarts!
She received her secretarial certificate in 1950 from the “Reliance School of Commerce” and when she moved to Regina in 1956 from the farm in Sedley, she started working for a law firm where she stayed for 27 years.
She was an active member of the CWL for over 60 years and was a fixture at the St. Mary’s Church since moving to Regina. She loved to sing in the choir and she volunteered her time with the parish whenever they needed help.
In 1961 she started volunteering with the Regina General Hospital Auxiliary Club. Rose received her lifetime membership in 2010 and in 2015 received an Appreciation Award for over 4600 hours of volunteering.
She loved to knit, crochet, do embroidery and puzzles. In 2003 she knitted over 100 finger puppets which were donated to day surgery and the admitting department for distribution to the pediatric patients when they when they were admitted to the hospital.
Rose and Dan also joined the South Saskatchewan Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis in 1962.
Dan and Rose made a great couple with their dry sense of humour and their one liner remarks. One of Rose’s favourite’s was “If I am eating tomato soup with a fork, I’m in trouble.” Speaking of tomatoes, let’s not forget her, Dan and Theresa’s green thumb. The garden was planted and when harvested was unbelievable.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the 2nd floor at College Park 2, where she resided since September of 2021.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday March 26, 2024, at St Mary’s Parish, 2026 Winnipeg Street, Regina, SK at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow in the St Mary’s Hall.
An Interment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, SK
815 Assiniboine Ave East following the reception.
