Russ always spoke about his family, you were all close to his heart. He had a big family, all of us who knew him, volunteered or just talked to him were like family. We will remember his big smile, his ideas, stories, and his love for the military, football and St. John's services so well. He was always on hand to help for any task for the Karneval group or the German Club, my friend, you will be missed by us all.

Dear Rod and Virgina, I was in shock and deeply sadened by Russ's sudden passing.  He was taken from us too soon.  He had a big smile and a bigger heart.  He always had a lot to talk about when you saw him.  He also had a helping hand whenever you needed him.  He cherished the goup K. G. Harmonie from the German Club and also cherished the Romanian dance group.  I will cherish the times we spent together and I'm proud to have known him and more proud to have called him "friend".  RIP Russ, you will forver be missed.

Virginia and Rodney, you are in my prayers.  To lose a son/brother is so difficult.  Please take comfort in knowing that Russ is at peace.  I have known Russ for several years and although we all got older one thing never changed when it came to Russ and that was his compassion for his family, friends and for those he helped whether it be with St. John Ambulance, the military, the German Club or work. Everyone who passes leaves behind a legacy...Russ's legacy was to be humble, to serve, to be generous of his time.  These qualities in him I admire for we could all learn from him.  Russ, my friend and fellow officer, rest in peace, your work here is done.

To the Eberle Family: You will remain in my thoughts and prayers as you go threw this difficult time. Thank you for lending Russ to the world so that we could have such a amazing friend. 
 Russ where to start . We all love you and wish it did not come to this. I will miss you forever my friend. I will not say goodbye to you but a simple farewell for now. You have left so many of us with great memories that can never be taken from us. I remember when you showed up at the airport out of the blue with coffee just to say good bye in the wee hours of the morning. I will forever cherish our polka at the  wedding. St Johns, The duties, Craven, Weddings the airport the list goes on. I cant even imagine not seeing your smiling face. I will say every time I am at NASA I will buy a T shirt and wear it for you.  God has a bigger plan for you my friend. Thank you for leaving us all with the memories that will be held close to our heart forever. There is not a time that has ever gone by that when you say Russ it is not accompanied by a smile. Your gentle heart, kind soul and love for life was so amazing.  Thank you Russ for being you and everything you brought to this world. I will miss you my friend.

Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers as you start this difficult journey of saying farewell to Russ. He was a remarkable man, devoted to his career, family & his friends and I am sure these are  the most difficult days you could imagine.  But I am equally sure that you are all so proud of Russ and all he has accomplished!  He'll surely live on forever in your hearts and minds forever.  He really was one~of~a~kind. And to my dear friends Dianne & Mitchell Bako - The price to pay for having someone special touch your life is the sadness you feel when they're gone. Even though it cost tears the memories were a bargain.
I know how hard your taking this sudden loss of your sweetheart Russ, and I want you to know we are here for you if you need us.  This really was so unexpected and I know how much you wanted to be there for  the funeral... and I know that Russ knows that too.  I hope you find comfort in your memories, nothing can take them away!  They are a gift.
