It is with great sadness that the family of Sharlene Philipina Elizabeth Campbell (née Heil) announces her passing on August 7, 2025, in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, at the age of 74.
Sharlene was born on July 12, 1951, in Neudorf, Saskatchewan, to Herb and Rose Heil of Lemberg. She grew up on the family farm outside Lemberg, where she cherished many memories of her childhood—riding the farm horse “Pride,” driving the grain truck, and enjoying life on the farm.
After graduating high school, Sharlene moved to Regina to attend nursing school. She later relocated to Vancouver, where she reconnected with relatives, made lifelong friends, and met her 1st husband, Heinz Pantel. Together, they moved back to Regina and raised two sons. In the early-1990s, Sharlene met Bob Campbell, whom she married in 1996 and shared a happy life with until Bob’s passing on January 3, 2005. In 2015, Sharlene found love and companionship once again with her partner, Doug Lawson.
Throughout her life, Sharlene worked in a variety of roles, including waitressing at Dog N Suds and serving as a long-term care aide at Extendicare. She devoted her prime years to raising her sons. Sharlene and Bob loved to go dancing and attend concerts, while she and Doug shared a passion for travel, especially to Las Vegas, where they took in many shows and live performances. Sharlene had a deep love of music, particularly live music, which brought her great joy.
Sharlene is survived by her loving partner and best friend, Doug Lawson of Rockglen, SK, and their four “boys” — Freddy, Bixby, Max, and Buddy. She is also survived by her sons Corey Pantel (Kristi) of Regina, and their daughters Alexis and Madison; and Kurtis Pantel of Regina, and his sons Jordon and Kai.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Brenda (Louis) Schneider and Crystal (Brad) Burgart, her brother-in-law Neil Lewis, 1st husband Heinz Pantel and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Sharlene was predeceased by her parents, Herb and Rose Heil, her husband Bob Campbell, and her sister Lorraine Lewis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 29, 2025, at Victoria Avenue Funeral Chapel, Regina, SK, at 11:00 am.
