Sophie Nora Anderson Law

Sophie Law passed away peacefully Wednesday March 25, 2015 at the Regina Lutheran Home just 2 months prior to her 100th birthday. She was born In Norquay Sask on June 4, 1915 to Jonetta and Hans Anderson and married Robert C. Law August 20, 1941. Sophie is survived by her son Terry Law (Sheila) of Saint Stephen, N.B., daughters Lorraine Button (Garry) of Rosetown, and Marianne Brown (Pat) of Regina, sisters Ruby George of Surrey, B.C., and Freda Brewer of Thunder Bay, Ont, daughters-in-law Jan Law and Joyce Law of Saskatoon, SK, and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by 10 grandchildren: Vince Brown (Kim), Jodey Brown (Tamara), Tracy Wolfe (Scott), Jason Law (Treasa), Guy Law (Marcia), Derek Law (Jenn), Tyler Law (Pam), Jane Button, Trevor Button (Cassandra), Perry Button (Kelly).

Sophie leaves behind 16 great grandchildren: Chris Pagan, Cassidy and Madelyn Wolfe, Amanda and Owen Law, Damen Haggerty, Tristen and Ethen Button-Friesen, Carter and Morgainn Law, Amanda, Emma and Carson Law, Benjamin and Samuel Law, and step-great grandson Darren Ziegler. Sophie was predeceased by husband Robert (Bob) C. Law, son Robert (Rob) T. Law, brothers Clarence and Elmer Anderson, sisters Huldus Holm, Hazel Peacock, Needa Johnson, Thea Hanson, son-in-law Murray Button, daughter-in-law Mary Law. Sophie was a long time resident of Regina and was a member of Rosemont United Church for most of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend and neighbour who spent many hours volunteering with church and community. The family wishes to thank Dr. G. K. O'Byrne for over 30 years of care he provided to Sophie. Also thanks to Regina Lutheran Home for all the special love and care she received. Funeral service will be held on March 31, 2015 at 10:00 m at Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Ave, Regina. If so wishing, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
