I am sorry to hear of Mr. Melnyk's passing.  He taught me at St. John's in the late 70s and I have fond memories. I ran into him and Mr. Thiele playing pool in Bonzini's a number of years ago and he remembered me!  It was good to talk with him as an adult.  He was a good soul here on earth and I will remember him in my prayers.

I also had the privilege of teaching with Terry at St. Matthew many years ago.  He was a great guy, always smiling and joking.  He will be missed.  My condolences to all his family.  I am so sorry for your loss.

Mr Melnyk taught me at St.John's School, I ran into him a few years back and what a great little visit we had. He was always one of my favorite teachers. He taught me a few things that I still remember well to this day and he played a mean game of four square... My sincere condolences to his family.

My condolences to Rita and family. I had the priviledge to know Terry as a colleague and friend. He was a mentor to me when I was a young teacher starting out at St. John's School. His repore and humour with students is something I've always tried to emulate. I have many fond memories of him.

I am sorry to hear of Terry's passing. I had the privilege to have Terry both as a teacher at St. Matthew and then as a colleague at St Jerome. Terry was an excellent teacher and as a beginning teacher I learned a lot from him . He loved music and I played guitar for him on many occasions at school. His sense of humour was huge and so was his heart. What a great man!  He will be missed.

I worked with Terry at St. Gregory School.  He had a wonderful voice and it was a pleasure to listen to him sing.  May memories of him help to get you through this difficult time.  Rest in peace old friend.

There are only good memories of Terry Melnyk. I will remember him as kind and supportive and with the greatest sense of humor and most wonderful laugh. He always provided such positive encouragement when hearing about what was happening in our lives. Loved his passion for music and how he celebrated our cultural diversities too.
Everyone should be as lucky as we were to have Mr. Melnyk as a neighbor and a friend.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr.Melnyk's passing.  I was a student of his at St. Gregory and enjoyed having him as a teacher.  He was kind, and fair and always had something witty to say that made you chuckle! My sympathies to you at this difficult time.

I worked with Terry at St. Matthew where he also taught my 3 daughters. He had no problem teaching  in the "open space"area with his voice that could carry over whatever  the students were up to. His love of music was always evident. Keep those choirs of angels  in order.

Mr. Melnyk was my grade 7 teacher at St. Gregory. He is one of the few teachers that I still think about to this day. I recall around November, one of his assignments was to memorize "In Flanders Fields" and recite it in front of the entire class. Every Remembrance Day, whenever I hear this poem, the first thing that I think about is standing in front of Mr. Melnyk and my grade 7 class, reciting this iconic poem. To think about a teacher (annually) from 27 years ago, shows what a remarkable man he was, and how much he influenced so many of our lives. I am privileged to have had him as a teacher. God bless.

Mr. Melnyk was always one of my favorite teachers at St. Gregory.  I have always respected him. He was strict, fair, kind and witty . I will always remember and be thankful that I had the chance to know and learn from him.  He will be missed.

So sorry to read of Mr. Melnyk's passing. I was a student in Allan which was his first teaching position. He made a positive difference in my life. We did meet up when I was an adult at a reunion in Allan. He explained a lot to us, a couple of his students what it was like to be an 18 year old young teacher in Allan at that time, made us understand a lot. I respected him and his courage. I think I met you once Rita shortly after you were married. So sorry for you loss.

I am saddenend to hear of Mr. Melnyk's death and so sorry for your loss. I remember Mr. Melnyk well as he taught me at St. Gregory. He had a big heart and a very kind caring person.

I remember Mr. Melnyk from his years at St. Gregory. He was strict yet fair and had such a passion for teaching. My sympathies to the family, he will always be remembered.

Mr. Melnyk was my Grade 7 teacher at Allan in '62-'63.  Looking back now it was refreshing to have a teacher who put a different spin on life than what we were used to.  I don't believe I'd been in contact with him in all this time, however I've occasionally received updates from my nephew (a former student of his from St. Gregory) on his very positive encounters with Mr. Melnyk at his places of work in recent years.  Know that his advocacy made a difference.

I had the priviledge to know Terry as a collleague and friend.  What a wonderful professional and community member. The world is a much better place because he was here, and remains here in all whom weree so fortunate to experience him, directly and indirectly.  Thank you to those who gave a supported Terry to the world.

So sorry to read of Mr. Melnyks passing.  He was my grade 7 teacher at St.Gregory.  (He also taught some of my aunts and uncles in Allan, Saskatchewan.) I look back and remember him to be a very real and down to earth teacher.  My sympathies to his family.

I knew Mr. Melnyk from his years at St. Gregory. He was a wonderful teacher and I have fond memories of him. Rita and Terry Jr, please take comfort in knowing that you now have a special guardian angel looking down over you.

I am so sorry to hear of Terry's passing.  I had the pleasure of teaching with Terry at St. Gregory School in the mid 1980s.  As a young teacher I respected Terry's teaching practice, his sense of humor and his ability to form deep respectful relationships with students.  Terry set the bar high for teachers around him and was admired and respected as a successful teacher and valued colleague. Terry touched the lives of hundreds of students.  His legacy will undoubtedly live on in them.  He was a powerful and positive influence in creating strong character in his students. 

My thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
