Thelma Francis Jones

January 26, 1929 – March 23, 2017

On March 23, 2017, Thelma Jones passed away at the age of 88 years. Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her partner Guy Levesque; son Barry (Michelle) Jones; daughters Gwyneth (Larry) Helfrich & Brenda (John) Olson; grandsons Devin (Lisa) Jones and Michael Helfrich; granddaughters Lanna (Brad Locke) Olson, Rhiannon Jones, Meghan (Bob) Thomson and Mia (Adam Abdulla) Olson; great-granddaughter Emily Jones; brothers Ivor Brown (Yvonne) and David (Ingrid) Brown and sister-in-law Phyllis Jenish. Thelma is predeceased by her parents Joe & Rose Brown; husband Tudor Jones; mother-in-law Margaret Jones and granddaughter Erin Helfrich. Thelma was born in Estevan, SK on January 26 , 1929 to English Immigrants Joe & Rose Brown and raised on a farm near Hitchcock, SK with her 2 brothers. Thelma attended school from 1st to 8th grade and studied correspondence for grade 9. She moved to Mission City, BC to work in a Cannery for one year and returned to Estevan and worked as a Nurses Aid for 5 years at St Joseph’s Hospital. Thelma married Tudor Jones on October 24, 1949 in Estevan, lived in Pense and moved to Fort Qu’Appelle in December 1953. Tudor passed away in 1997, and Thelma met Guy Levesque who was her loving and caring partner until her death. Thelma was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2009 and fought courageously for over 7 years. Memorial Service will be held on March 31, 2017 at 2:00pm at St John’s Anglican Church, 202 Bay Avenue, Fort Qu’Appelle, SK.
