I had the privilege of knowing Joyce through the White City Garden Club. She was a lovely person and I so enjoyed spending time with her and getting to know her. My deepest sympathies to all of you.

We were deeply saddened to her of Joyce's passing.  Byron and Taylor spent a lot of time together in years past and we've come to know, from stories told, that they always appreciated Joyce's patience and guidance however, mostly her sense of humor.

It was such a shock to hear about Joyce.  I met Joyce as a student in the NP program. She had the best smile, laugh,  a wonderful sense of humor and energy to burn. It was a privilege to know her. My deepest sympathy to all the family. 

Joyce lived near us and over the past ten years we often exchanged greetings as we walked around our “block”. She was a staple of the neighborhood for me and I will miss her friendly face. While there are others, one interaction that really warmed my heart was when my girls were smaller one fell from her bike and I had to leave it and carry her home. Joyce silently came up behind us while on her walk, picked up the bike and delivered it home. I will never forget this kindness.

I was so saddened to learn of Joyce’s passing. I give my sincere condolences.
I first met Joyce when we were in the masters program. Later on I was fortunate to hire Joyce as the first instructor for the nurse practitioner program at SIAST. Joyce was the ideal person for the program and freely shared her knowledge, and her commitment to advancing the role of a nurse practitioner. I have many fond memories of the times we spent together working and traveling to meetings. 
Joyce’s passing leaves a big hole in your lives and family and in the nursing a community. May your many fond memories bring you comfort and peace as you journey through grief.

Joyce was such a bright spirit - she will be sorely missed by her many friends in White City Garden Club. I will remember her as well from time spent on the golf course, at yoga, and most especially sharing her love of learning and caring for others through nursing.

I am so sad to hear of Joyce's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of Joyce, Wendy Brown and myself.. Oh how we laughed.   I remember walking down Hillsdale and Joyce and I singing at the top of our lungs "Bohemian Rhapsody". I remember her smile and her good heart. In August, one of my daughters got to meet Joyce on an 811 call and somehow our connection came up. Chelsea was so impressed with what a great nurse she was and her passion for it, she had to share. Apparently Joyce shared as well. Yikes! I am so sorry for your loss Randy, Byron and Julianne, please know your wonderful memories one day will trump your grief. Take care.

I greatly admired and respected my friend, Joyce.  I first met her through our book club and then got to know her further as a member of the garden club in our community.  She was a dedicated professional, an avid reader who loved a good controversial book, an accomplished gardener & a kind and thoughtful person. Her life journey came to an end too soon and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

I had the privilege of working with Joyce in remote Nursing Stations in Saskatchewan. Joyce was always full of laughter, was energetic and I knew she  would have my back in emergencies. I was frustrated with the limitations as a RN in remote nursing.  Joyce encouraged me to consider doing the  NP program.  She was one of the influences in my life that lead me to become a Nurse Practitioner.  I have seen her several times thru out my NP career, and she always made me feel like I was a good friend. It was a privilege  to work with Joyce and a honor to know her. Her passing is a loss to so many including all Nurse Practitioners

I’m very sad that Joyce loss her fight with cancer. I will miss her at bookclub and on our skating dates. My thoughts are with you. Take care and treasure your memories.

I wrote this to Joyce!
Joyce thank you for the wonderful memories and precious ways you made everyone you came in contact with feel special.
Some of my fond memories of you date back to our shenanigans in 1974-75 Fanshawe school of nursing. Woodstock was never the same after the class of 75 left. 
You encourage me to follow you out to Regina Sask in the fall of 75 where initially we took up residence at College West, Regina University. You were working at the Plains and I was at Wascana (but soon to follow you to the Plains). We had many wonderful times together to name a few our trip to Calgary Christmas 76!
You were my roommate from 75 to 77 and my one of bridesmaids when I married Benny(Joyce always called Dale - Benny) in 1977. 
Joyce and I were always planning to do Europe together but my heart was somewhere else. 
The next thing I know Joyce calls me Feb14 and tells me she and Randy Bruce (love of her life) had gotten married. Of course I was so happy for both of them. 
Over the years Joyce and I kept in contact and while we had our children. I moved back to Ontario and Joyce settled with Randy and family in  White City.
Joyce and I would always reconnect either in Ontario(where her family was from or when our family went to Sask).
Joyce and Randy even came to Florida to visit us in 2018 when they were passing through. I’m so happy we shared that time together.
Joyce - my life forever will be better because you have been such an intricate part of it. I miss hearing you call me Wendy “Brown” already.
My thoughts and prayers are with Randy, Byron and Julianna at this time.
