Vivian Marie Ritmiller (nee Mann) passed away peacefully on November 15, 2013 at the William Booth Special Care Home at the age of 74 years. Vivian was predeceased by her loving husband, Albert Henry Ritmiller, her parents Joseph and Johanna Mann (nee Engel), her sister Irene Weisgerber, brother-in-law David Oliver, nieces Kathleen Hewitt and Baby Weisgerber, nephews Corey Ritmiller, Bradin LaBelle and Garth Radons, Albert’s parents Emmanuel and Magdalina Ritmiller, his sisters Helen (Gordon) Smith, Eleanor (William) Faye and Elsie (John) Loire and his brothers Emiel, Harold (Lucienne) and Leonard. A devoted mom and grandma, Vivian will be lovingly remembered by those who made her so proud and brought great joy, much laughter and sharing into her life. Her daughter Laurel Lucrezia, her much loved grandson, Matteo Henry, and her grandpets, Riley and Oscar, of Peabody, Massachusetts, her sisters Genevieve (Maurice) Cottrill and Leona Oliver of Regina, and sisters-in-law Edith Ritmiller of Richmond, BC. An Aunt who referred to all of them as “Her Kids” she leaves to mourn her passing twenty-three special nieces and nephews, their spouses, and families, as well as her extended families, the Seredas and Lucrezias, and many other relatives and friends. Vivian enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaws, and reading and keeping up with an ever-changing family history kept her busy. However, being a people person, she enjoyed a game of pool, calling bingo and being actively involved in her building Social Club. Family was always first and gatherings, large or small were treasured. She was often called upon for recipes, advice, or family information. Vivian enjoyed travelling; her frequent trips to Boston were always special, especially for the birth of Matteo, Christmases and joint birthday parties with her grandson each August. Laurel and Matteo will be forever grateful to the friends and family who gathered with her in her final weeks and days, surrounding her with laughter and love. Special thanks to Vince and Lori, Ray and Edie, Brian and Nancy, Billy and Monnell, George and Judy, and all of Vivian’s doctors and caregivers. She left us with peace in her heart, knowing she was well loved and would be soon in the arms of her dear sweet Albert. We are the better for having been loved by her and we know she is smiling upon each of us.
