1947 – 2012
It is with profound sadness that the family of Bill is to announce his passing, surrounded by the love of his family, on Friday, March 30, 2012 after an eight year battle fought courageously against cancer. Left to always cherish his special memory is his beloved wife of 20 years, Diane Lindsay; father Roger Salloum (Eva Janz); two sisters Cathy Salloum & Sue (Brian) Wanner; step-son T.J. Dafoe; brothers-in-law Gary Blanch & Michael Blanch; sister-in-law Linda Blanch; special family members – David, Bob, Bill & Patricia Orban. Bill will also be missed by numerous other extended family members and many thoughtful friends, colleagues and students that have enriched his life throughout the years. Bill is predeceased by his mother Ida; his Grandparents as well as other Aunts & Uncles. Bill began his teaching career at Kipling Highschool in Kipling, SK, before moving back to Regina and assuming a teaching position at Bosco Homes. In the early 1990’s Bill moved to a position teaching with the Ranch Ehrlo Society, it was here he was forced to end his career to begin his fight against cancer. Personally, Bill found great enjoyment spending time with his family, his friends and working outdoors. A private Gathering of Remembrance has already taken place. Friends so wishing, may make a donation in Bill’s memory to the William Booth Grace Hospice- c/o 90 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6 or to The Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to recognize the staff of both the William Booth Grace Hospice and the Pasqua Palliative Care Department for the exceptional care and support that was provided to Bill and his family during the last weeks of his life.
Arrangements under the direction of Lee Funeral Home, Regina, SK.
