Alice Louise (Dorn) Baggott, 93, of Temple passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 8, 2021 in her residence while holding her daughter’s hand. She passed 2 weeks short of her 94th birthday after having fought a month’s long battle with complications from bowel cancer
Born May 22, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Mary (Wert) Dorn.
Alice Louise graduated from Oley Valley High School in 1945 and then took banking classes at Albright College and real estate classes at Penn State, Berks Campus.
She worked as a teller at First National Bank, Oley and after that became secretary at Oley Elementary School. From there she was employed at Kutztown University where she worked as a secretary and eventually was the secretary to the head of the foreign language division and secretary to the athletic director. After retirement from Kutztown, she worked as her daughter Joanne’s personal assistant in Joanne’s real estate practice at Re/Max of Reading, working until age 90.
She is survived by her loving daughter Joanne, with whom she resided. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Hartline of Phoebe Berks. Also surviving are a niece, nephew and several cousins.
Alice enjoyed helping others, delivering Meals on Wheels for several years, donating blood and grocery shopping for seniors through Berks Encore and also shopping for various neighbors. She belonged to People over 50 and enjoyed their bus trips.
Joanne wishes to thank the amazing caregivers of Tower Health Home Service and Hospice for the outstanding care they provided Alice to keep her comfortable at home.
Per Alice’s wishes, there will be no scheduled services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Alice’s name may be made to the Animal Rescue League, P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, Pa. 19540.
