Carmen Nerida Gonzalez, 70, of Reading, passed away at her daughters house in Exeter Twp., PA on Thursday, March 21, 2019. She was the wife of the late Luis Manuel Gonzalez. He preceded in death in 2003.
Born and raise in Fantuce, San Juan, Puerto Rico on August 14 1948, she was a daughter of the late Gustabo Del Torres and Hilda Ines Torres Canini.
Carmen enjoyed playing Bingo on the weekends and her Bustelo Coffee and cigarettes. A few of her favorite dishes were mashed potatoes and ribs or steak and onions! She use to enjoy watching the Spanish Soaps but latey she watched Friends, Grey's Anatomy and ER Real Stories. She loved her dogs but most of all, she loved her family. She was very proud of all of them. She will be sadly missed.
Surviving are two daughters, Hilda Ines Gonzalez Torres of Reading, PA and Brend Lee (Gonzalez) Angel of Exeter Twp., PA; one brother, Hector Almenas of Hoboken, NJ; three sisters, Sonia Almenas of Philipsburg, NJ, Nidia "Tata" Colon of San Juan, PR and Sol Colon of Orlando, FL; six grandchildren, Jorge Vasquez, Jr., Raymond Vasquez, Luis Manuel Vasquez, Edwin Noel Rodriguez, Carmen Ines Ayala and Orlando De Jesus Vasquez and 16 great grandchildren, Tristin Ruiz, Logan Ruiz, Elijah Ruiz, Thalianna Vasquez, Christopher Roche, Brandon Vasquez, Iyanna Gonzalez, Nevaeh Washington, Genexie Vasquez, Luis M. Vasquez, Edwin N. Rodriguez, Jr., Javien Rodriguez, Cassidy Rodriguez, Jazelee Rodriguez and Layla M. Rodriguez.
Also surviving are Carmen's furry children, Ruby and Bruno, who are lost without her.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Carmen is predeceased by her granddaughters, Thalia Mendez, Joselee Mendez and Brianna Naomi Mendez and a brother, Julio "Negro" Almenas.
Services will be on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 1pm in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neverink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday in the funeral home from 11am to 1pm. Carmen will be laid to rest with her three angels, Thalia, Joeselee and Brianna in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading, PA .
