
Clarence Robert Moyer, 78, of Birdsboro, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Clarence was the loving husband of Anna Mae (Matetich) Moyer. Sadly, Anna passed away at home in 2015.
Clarence was born in the family home is Birdsboro on January 4, 1939, a son of the late Arthur Oscar and Hazel Marie (Witman) Moyer. He was a Twin Valley High School graduate and served in the United States Marine Corps.
He was employed with Overnight Transportation as a truck driver for 15 years. Prior to that, he was a truck driver for Swann Oil Co. for 20 years and Hess Oil Corp. for eight years. Clarence was member of the Neversink Gun Club, Kulptown Fire Co. and Highland Lake Manor in Hughesville.
Clarence was a devoted, hardworking family man. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and trips to the cabin in Potter Co. with his sons and grandsons. He enjoyed playing punch boards and strip tickets. You could always catch him mowing the lawn with is fishing cap on and an Old Milwaukee in his hand.
Surviving are five children: Kevin Moyer and his wife, Beth, Craig Moyer, Wanda (Moyer) McCalicher, Tina (Moyer) Raser and her husband, Gene, Sr. all of Green Hills and Stacy (Moyer) Rodriguez and her husband, John of Exeter Twp.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister: Emma (Moyer) Gephardt and her husband, Floyd of Mohnton and a brother: Arlan Moyer of Maple Grove.
In addition to his wife, Anna Mae; Clarence is predeceased by two sisters: Linda (Moyer) Wise and Helen (Moyer) Shupp and a brother: Jimmy Moyer.
A graveside service will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. A funeral procession will form in the cemetery entrance at 11:30am.
