Douglas David Long

He was the husband of Diane E. (Fick) Long.

Born in West Reading he was a son of Dolores (Priebe) Long and the late John Long.

He was a graduate of Wyomissing High School and attended both Trinity United Church of Christ, Mount Penn as well as Glad Tidings Church, Spring Township. He was employed with F.M. Browns, Sinking Spring and lastly was working at Hoffman Industries also in Sinking Spring.

Doug enjoyed being active and participated in almost all sports, playing tennis, basketball and jogging with his daughter Nikki. He was a passionate fan of Penn State football, but his true love was his family and especially their vacations together at the beach.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Nicole E. “Nikki” Long of West Lawn and his brother, Calvin Long and his wife Terri of West Reading. He was predeceased by a brother, Keith Long.

Services will be held in Auman’s, Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, Pa. 19606 on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends and family may view on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 pm and on Thursday from 12:00-1:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions to assist with final expenses can be made to the funeral home.
