Ellen Mary Gross, 74, of Honey Brook, PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Chester County Hospital. Born on November 13, 1946 in Schuylkill Haven, PA, she was a daughter to the late T. Burton Shipe and Mildred Alma (Sharadin) Shipe.
Professionally, Ellen worked as a Registered Nurse at various hospitals but took a break from nursing to raise her 6 children and resumed after they were old enough to look after themselves and each other.
Ellen was a woman of God placing God first and foremost in her life. Reading scripture daily was of utmost importance to Ellen. As a servant of the Lord, she was a member of Exeter Bible Community Church, attended Twin Valley Bible Church and taught Sunday school. Equally as important as her faith was being a devoted wife and dedicated mother to her children and grandchildren. She absolutely treasured spending time with her family and embraced every moment with them.
Ellen was a selfless, patient mother and wife who always sacrificed her needs for the good of others. Her altruistic nature and quiet demeanor were a testament to the life she led. She was patient, kind and always welcomed others with the warmest of smiles.
Ellen loved going to Twin Pines Camp, her daily walks, singing, playing the piano, and actively volunteering at Tel Hai Retirement Community.
Ellen's spirit will be carried on by her beloved husband of 49 ½ years, Frederick W. Gross; her 5 daughters Dawn Gross, of Sinking Spring, Cheryl Klopp and her husband Adrian, of Lancaster, Lori Oxenreider and her husband Jason, of Reading, Linda Lenhoff and her husband Jordan, of Sinking Spring, Jill Eichelberger and her husband Andrew, of Reading; son Kenneth Gross, of Reading and her sister Joanne L. Shipe, of Birdsboro. Ellen also leaves behind 8 grandchildren; Xavier, Braden, Annelise, Logan, Carter, Kailyn, Connor and Lexie to cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was greeted in heaven by her brother Thomas B. Shipe.
