

Elwood Wilson Miller, 89, of Kutztown, formerly of Reading, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Kutztown Manor Nursing Home. He was the loving husband of the late Betty Jane Miller.
Born in Reading on May 3, 1925, he was a U.S. Naval veteran and served during World War II. He entered into the service August 6, 1943 and was discharged March 18, 1945. He earned the Phiippine Liberation Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal.
Elwood was employed with Rockwell International as a cast iron maker for over 30 years. He was a member of the Excelsior Beneficial Association and was a volunteer fireman with the Hampden/ Marion Station.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah A. (Miller) and her husband, Daniel Kiedeisch of Exeter Twp and Cynthia A. (Miller) and her husband, Jay Rubin of Robesonis; four grandchildren: Henry and Austin Willard and Nicole and Herbert Ragan; and four great grandchildren: Alexandria and Natalie Willard, Kayden Turner and Benjamin Rubin.
Elwood is predeceased by two brothers: Kenneth and James and two sisters: Gladys and Mary.
A Graveside Memorial Service for Elwood will be at 2:00pm on Monday, September 29, 2014 in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends are asked to form the funeral procession at Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606.
